Ruckus Poetry Slam is back in May! So it's called Muckus. Get it?

The microphone is OPEN to ANY and ALL who want to sign their name up to perform their poem/standup/pop-punk lyrics, and then there are PRIZES because as we all know there is always a WINNER of ART.

But as always the points aren't the point the point is POETRY!

It can get whacky. It can get deep. It can even get double-deep.

Do I have to perform?
Heck no, we're not that cruel! Come along and just watch!

Does my poem have to fit a theme?
No, our "themes" for each month are very loose and some poets use them as writing prompts. But we don't curate or censor so bring along any kind of original work!

Can I buy tickets on the door?
Yes!

Is the venue accessible?
Yes! Our new venue Mirrorball Ministries is completely accessible for audience! For performers - the stage has 4-5 stairs up to it, but we can easily adjust and you can perform in front of the stage if stairs are an obstacle. We'd love to have you! What if I miss out on a sign-up spot?
We really do our best to make sure we get a good assortment of poets and over the years we've found the most fair way is for it to be a first-in-best-dressed for signup, so we advise getting there close to 6:30pm when the doors open to have a better chance of getting in!
