For the very first time, Karaka Orchestra is bringing their celebrated Sweet Sweat Set to Brisbane, and they're making their debut at the beautiful Mirrorball Ministries this July.

Led by Argentinian musician, composer and interdisciplinary artist Chucho Bruno, Karaka Orchestra weaves Afrobeat, jazz, soul, Latin grooves and cinematic textures into a live experience unlike anything else. This is music built for bodies in motion, with hypnotic percussion that burrows deep, bold horn lines that lift the roof and bass grooves that move through you before you even know you're dancing.

At the heart of the show is something truly special: Chucho conducts the ensemble live using a sign-language system developed in South America, shaping the music in real time through gesture, cue and spontaneous direction. No set list. No repeat performances. Every night is a one-off composition, born in the room, fed by the crowd, impossible to recreate. Musicians and audience breathe together and the energy just keeps building.

Expect fearless improvisation, collective groove and the kind of ecstatic release that only happens when a room full of people surrenders to the music at the same time. Part concert, part ceremony, part sweat-soaked dance floor takeover - the Sweet Sweat Set earns its name.
