The BAr BAzAAr launches with a very special night of contemporary folk music, featuring a farewell Brisbane performance by Amaidí before they head off on their first European tour this August.
Amaidí will be taking their high-energy neo-trad sound to some of the world's great folk stages, including the Cambridge Folk Festival (UK), Festival Interceltique de Lorient (France), and a series of performances across Ireland. This is your chance to catch them before they depart.
Brisbane's Amaidí is a high-energy neo-trad powerhouse featuring banjo, fiddle, guitar and accordion, creating a massive, modern sound that fills every corner of the room.
Their sets are pure fire — explosive dance tunes paired with beautifully crafted songs, blending Irish, Scottish and Australian roots into a powerful live experience.
Every time they hit the stage, they bring the energy. Every time.
Supporting Amaidí are Blue Stockings, an art-folk duo from Meanjin/Brisbane featuring guitarist Chloe Hasson and vocalist Alison Paris. Drawing inspiration from psychedelic 70s folk, traditional ballads and modern indie-folk, their music combines intricate guitar work with poignant lyrics and rich storytelling. With a DIY spirit and a healthy sense of humour, Blue Stockings create performances that are thoughtful, engaging and refreshingly original.
